JANE BOOTH

Jane and Clarinets08 073‘a passionate and winning champion of her cause…’ (The Scotsman)

I love my clarinets – all of them! I have been a professional player for over 20 years and have been privileged to tour many countries of the world, performing with renowned orchestras and chamber ensembles. My work as a soloist and chamber musician currently takes me to North America, Europe and around the UK in recitals and lecture demonstrations on clarinets from all periods – starting with the chalumeaux of the eighteenth century and moving through to modern instruments as played in Symphony Orchestras everywhere.

My work embodies the creative relationship between player, researcher and instrument maker. Current recording projects connect commissions for new instruments with research into first editions and historical performance practices.
